It’s been a while since I want to share some pictures of my last maternity session on the beach.
The love that these two (soon three !!) have for each other is really something special to see. It’s really an endearing couple, Alexandra is sweet, reserved, adorable and Kevin super nice and really funny. They came to our magical island to rest a bit and discover the region. Alexandra was five months pregnant and needed calm. Coming at this time of the year was just perfect. Ibiza is splendid at this time: the weather was mild, the light perfect and there are not too many people.
Passionate about photography, Alexandra likes to make photo albums for all the major events of her life (travel, wedding, etc) in order to keep a tangible memory over time and to be able to transmit it later.
It was therefore the perfect opportunity for a maternity session on the beach.
I asked them to join me on one of my favorite beaches in Ibiza and we spent the end of the afternoon together. We had more acquainted with a drink and the session started.
Alexandra changed twice because she wanted to have pictures with her beautiful belly apparent. She wears beautifully one of my dresses and the sublime tule skirt is the one she wore at the last wedding she attended.
The session went extremely well, they are delighted with the photos and have already told me to wave when I’m on Paris for photos with baby 🙂
and yes : Photographing happiness with nice and happy people: I really do the best job in the world!
I wish them all the happiness of the world for this new adventure.
It is with delight that I remember this “mother & son” photo shoot with Aneta and Olli, near Las Salinas, one of my favorite beaches in Ibiza.
It was funny, epic, quick. Here’s how it was organized and then shot.
Before I start, you should know that my favorite color is blue. Mixed with yellow, I find it even more beautiful: it reminds me the summer, the holidays, the sun, the sea … in short, happiness for the Mediterranean girl that I am!
A few days ago, I organized a photo shoot with the radiant Aneta and her lovely little family (you’ll know more about it in a while, wait, they’re so beautiful!). On the way, I noticed beautiful yellow flower fields that I immediately found immensely inspiring. Instantly, I knew I had to photograph a mother and her baby. The images were already in my head … I was ready, I only needed models.
Well, you know what? Within the next hour the Universe brought them to me on a tray (yes, yes).
While chatting with Aneta and her husband, Chris, I learned out of the blue that Chris’s favorite color is yellow and that, like me, they have noticed those flower fields on the way.
In less than two minutes, the appointment was made for next week. Rather between two days of rain to be exact.
The dress was chosen (one of my favorite: blue, in silk, sublime) and I asked Aneta to leave Olli in body so that my view and my camera take advantage of her adorable chubby thighs ☺
We ended up on the side of the road in the middle of the afternoon. Aneta changed in two minutes without flinching (she’s a rockstar!), Olli was in a good mood.
We were ready.
To begin, it was necessary to cross a first field to reach the one in flowers … and there for two minutes, it was literally a nightmare: there were hundreds of mosquitoes everywhere. A nightmare !!! Fortunately, our little Olli was covered and who knows why… but no one was stung.
Arrived among the flowers, we were reassured and happy. On the other hand, it was a bit chilly outside so it was necessary to be very quick so that nobody gets cold.
Believe it or not, but the photo shoot lasted for only 10 minutes, yes only 10! Indeed, I can work quickly if necessary because I never forget to prepare myself before a shooting.
Vision, preparation, trust and connection are my watchwords.
The magic worked instantly, everything was perfect: the connection between the mother & son was total, Olli was in a great mood, we already knew each other so trust was there and Aneta was very easy to direct. We were in this famous artistic “flow” that I love and match with their radiant personalities well … I think the images speak for themselves, don’t they… ?
Here are some of them. I hope you’ll like it as much as I do.
See you soon,
PS: for all family photography sessions (or wedding), do not hesitate to contact me to discuss it. I will be happy to help.
This session is showcasing the beautiful “Las Salinas” beach in ibiza at the end of December (the 31st to be exact). It was an amazing beautiful sunny day with almost 20 °C (68°F).
Being able to capture the deep connection between Stephanie and her sons was really emotive to me.
To be honest, Nolan (8) and Mae (6) made my job easy with their radiating smiles,
Stephanie is the kind of woman super strong and really cool in the same time. It was easy to collaborate with her for this session. Also, she is such a caring mother, I could even felt her deep & intense Love for her sons. Honestly, I loved it.
Here few images of the session. I hope you will like it as much as i do. I am so happy to be able to share it with you.
It’s Christmas holidays here, so we try to do, at least, one outdoor activity a day with the kids. With 17 degré Celsius (almost 63 degré Fahrenheit) of average daily these recent days, we would have no excuse for not doing it though…
Patrice and I love to walk and now that Zoe, our youngest of three and a half years, is “stronger”, we thought it was the right time to try a new walk of several kilometers .
The time to prepare the children and crab my camera, Patrice picked a ballad in our favorite guide “Secret Seeker”, written by our dear friend Rob Smith.
Fifteen minutes later, we were there.
What was my surprise to discover this unique landscape that I’ve never seen in Ibiza before : it was neither the “campo” (so dear to my heart), nor the beach.
It was simply beautiful.
I instantly fell in love with these winter colors, this amazing golden light and the blue sky, cloudy and dramatic as I like.
The kids obviously loved it. We stopped everywhere and let them pick up just about everything they wanted. In the end, they even asked me to take a picture of them which doesn’t happen so much these times 🙂
It was a magic afternoon. Ibiza is really sublime in winter, you should come and visit it!
This session is showcasing the beautiful Puig d’en Missa in Santa Eulalia del Riu, Ibiza.
Featuring this gorgeous mother and daughter session and this beautiful light was everything I could hope for. Josefina and Suzy were great. I feel really grateful to have been able to capture these moments.
Connection & Emotions were everywhere : it was just magic. I am sure you’re going to feel their Love.
I am not exaggerating at all. It’s a fact. Every day, it’s for a new reason.
It can be for the beauty of a landscape, for a beautiful beach, for the food, the people I meet, the multi-cultural, open-minded and festive atmosphere, etc, etc…
Everyday, I thank the Universe to be lucky enough to live in this amazing place.
Of course, I am not saying that everything is perfect, HOWEVER when I put everything else in perspective, I would prefer, without a doubt in my mind, to live here than in any other big city, especially with kids.
The other day, I was amazed by the weather. Here in Ibiza, we have more than 300 days of sun per year, can you imagine? Crazy, isn’t it?
While all our friends and family, from France and Canada, were telling us how they were cold and fed-up about their weather, we were at the beach with 20 degrees. The ice-cream shop was almost full while the kids played, barefoot, in the sea. I couldn’t resist to capture some beautiful and sunny moments of them. memories for a life time as they said 🙂
Ibiza is my little PARADISE and I feel really blessed to be here.
