I just returned home from The Wolves workshop in la Graciosa (Canary islands, in Spain).
I am exhausted but my heart is full of joy and inspiration.
It was one full week learning from some of the best wedding photographers in the world, seing old friends, making new ones and enhancing my creativity; I couldn’t be more happy and everything was beyond my expectations.
Thank you, thank you again to all my friends and especially Pablo Beglez for creating such a beautiful and inspiring event.
Ahhh this session was incredible! I had a blast photographing this couple session of Dasi and Reinhardt on the beach.
Their passion and love for each other was evident throughout the session so it made my job so effortless.
Overcast weather is my favorite and I am pretty happy with the result.
This image remind me a poem of Pablo Neruda I like a lot. Here it is.
Here I love you.
In the dark pines the wind disentangles itself.
The moon glows like phosphorous on the vagrant waters.
Days, all one kind, go chasing each other.
The snow unfurls in dancing figures.
A silver gull slips down from the west.
Sometimes a sail. High, high stars.
Oh the black cross of a ship.
Sometimes I get up early and even my soul is wet.
Far away the sea sounds and resounds.
This is a port.
Here I love you.
Here I love you and the horizon hides you in vain.
I love you still among these cold things.
Sometimes my kisses go on those heavy vessels
that cross the sea towards no arrival.
I see myself forgotten like those old anchors.
The piers sadden when the afternoon moors there.
My life grows tired, hungry to no purpose.
I love what I do not have. You are so far.
My loathing wrestles with the slow twilights.
But night comes and starts to sing to me.
The moon turns its clockwork dream.
The biggest stars look at me with your eyes.
And as I love you, the pines in the wind
want to sing your name with their leaves of wire.
My first shooting of the year was a daydream: I had the opportunity to photograph Diana and Bo, an adorable and incredibly photogenic couple. This is how it happened.
Diana wanted pictures of her, her fiancé and all their animals.
So we quickly agreed to an appointment in early January at home.
A week before, we organized everything and I helped Diana to choose the most photogenic clothes (and accessories) of their wardrobes. Do not forget that we were at the beginning of January : so it was not so obvious to leave coats, big jumpers, etc. aside. Also, I wanted to see some skin because nothing is more beautiful in photo! ☺
However, we managed it like queens (and had a lot o fun). Diana really made my job easier thanks to her determination, efficiency and really good taste.
Everything was ready and organized. I only had to meet the real McCoy.
What was my surprise to discover that they lived in a little corner of paradise, in the heart of Morna Valley, Ibiza. Their view of the campo was breathtaking, their house very pretty, full of charm and especially full of animals: seven dogs and three cats please!
Indeed, in addition of being at the head of a successful holiday rental business (Great Villas Ibiza), to be so nice looking and a super nice couple, these two are both volunteers at Mojis Animal Santuary … and I imagine there was so much room in their hearts that over time they decided to adopt and expand their families. Love has no limit as they say. I find it beautiful and inspiring.
So, it is with great pleasure that I finally met this original couple with a big heart.
Diana is a subtle mix between “your best friend”, a lady boss and a slavic princess (she is Polish). She is really cool, I am serious : go and take a look at her blog and you will understand what I mean.
Bo is meanwhile super nice, friendly, the kind of guy who make you fell immediately confortable with (he is Scottish, which may explain that…). He is also a juicing specialist who has lost a lot of weight thanks to this technique. Wanting to share his knowledge and experience, he also organizes some workshops on Ibiza. Do not hesitate to contact him on this subject, he will love to help you. ☺ He is really passionate.
The shooting started. It was really perfect, it was warm outside (15 degrees) and the light was soft. I have guided them obviously (I still have some poses in mind before arriving depending on the location, the number of people, etc.) but I especially let the magic operates. Their complicity and their love were obvious, radiant. A real pleasure to photograph. Especially as they were both very comfortable in front of my camera. I think we can say that we had fun all three. I also keep a special memory of their cats, totally awesome who wanted absolutely to be part of the adventure!
I really enjoyed to meet them and to spend time with them to immortalize this magic.
This shoot leaves me with the impression of a daydream. A daydream from the beginning to the end.
I LOVE shooting outside! I love dealing with soft light : it is always magic!
I met Carmen and Luis while there were dancing like crazy. In Ibiza of course.
I immediately noticed their hair (ahahah, easy, I know, but true) and their complicity. Carmen is just so beautiful, full of grace and the sweetest person (she is a nurse). Luis has a natural presence, difficult to explain in words but it’s pretty obvious in the pictures, don’t you think? He is also a talented photographer (big pressure for me).
They came to visit our fabulous island for a few days before returning to Barcelona, where they live.
I can tell you, that these two lovers are the coolest people . The shooting went so well, I am pretty sure they forgot I was there.
They’ve been together for two years now and I am so glad I was able to shoot their Love.
